2016 Endorsements

Democratic Women of Santa Barbara County is pleased to announce that we have endorsed the Honorable Kamala D. Harris for the United States Senate.

Kamala D. Harris is the 32nd Attorney General of the State of California. She is the first woman, the first African American, and the first South Asian to hold the office in the history of California. She has worked to bring innovative and effective approaches to fighting crime, fighting for consumers, and fighting for equal rights for all.

45th Anniversary Celebration and Luncheon, September 19 at the Biltmore. We are both fortunate and excited to have the Hon. Kamala Harris as our keynote speaker. In a series of firsts, she was elected the first Black American, first Asian-American and first female Attorney General of California 2010 and re-elected in 2014. Now Harris is running for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Senator Barbara Boxer.

Free Documentary Film Screening

Followed by a panel discussion with representatives from local universities, State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson & other policy makers.

An exposé of rape crimes on U.S. college campuses, their institutional cover-ups, and the devastating toll they take on students and their families.  Panelists will explore how this issue is handled locally and answer questions.

And learn about a cause that we support. We will be assisting with voter registration!
