Gregg Hart, as a life time resident of Santa Barbara, attending public schools and graduating from Santa Barbara City College and UCSB with a degree in Political Science, knows this city well. His commitment to retain its beauty, cultural and social institutions, and economic and environmental diversity were key factors in our endorsement. Having served as a Santa Barbara City Planning Commissioner, a Coastal Commissioner and a two term Council Member, he will be able to hit the ground running.

Democratic Women of Santa Barbara County unanimously endorsed the re-election of Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider and Councilmember Bendy White for the Nov. 5, 2013 citywide election. This vote to endorse is a continued tradition of Democratic Women being early strong supporters of candidates who share their values.

The High Cost of Gun Violence

The Coalition Against Gun Violence (CAGV), a Santa Barbara County Coalition, is sponsoring a Community Forum, “The High Cost of Gun Violence,” Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Faulkner Gallery of Santa Barbara’s Main Library, free and open to the public. Our moderator, Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider, will be joined by a number of distinguished panelists to discuss one of the most critical issues facing our nation.
